She’s been referred to as “the original soul sister” and “the Godmother of rock and roll” and was a huge influence on early rock-and-roll musicians, like Little Richard, Johnny Cash, Chuck Berry, and Elvis Presley. 🖤🖤🖤 Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway🌟 Two of the best singers, musicians, and writers that have ever existed. The first time I listened the album they recorded together, I was completely floored. My music changed because of them. To this day, their collaboration is my favorite album of all time and I reference it any time I need inspiration. Their solo projects are also, of course, insanely good, and Donny’s daughter @lalahhathaway followed in his footsteps by creating awe-inspiring work as a vocalist/writer. 🖤🖤🖤 @LianneLaHavas🌟 I discovered her music in college and she quickly became one of my biggest inspirations. Her voice is STUNNING and unique and full of emotion. She is a badass guitar player, a badass human being, and in my opinion, has consistently put out some of the best music of the past 10 years. I would not be the artist I am today if I had never heard her music.
