Kylie Jenner, of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, surpassed big sister Kim Kardashian in Instagram followers. Fans are not shocked by the peaceful take over of social media as Kylie has been able to market herself impeccably this year, even though she suffered a public breakup while raising her young daughter.
Both Kim and Kylie have had a very good year, even though both have been plagued with a bit of drama. Since Keeping Up with the Kardashians aired in 2007, Kim was shot into stardom and has been entertaining the reality TV audiences ever since. The beauty mogul married rapper Kanye West in 2014, and the two currently have four children together. Kim has branched out in her many business ventures, while her youngest sister has become the youngest self-made billionaire, trying her hand at multiple projects. Recently, Kylie has faced some backlash from a photoshoot that fans claimed was culturally insensitive.
Now, Kim’s baby sister has surpassed her when it comes to social media followers, according to Too Fab. The 22-year-old had once again surpassed her older sister for the crown over the New Year period. Kylie’s endeavors have earned her over $900 million, making her the richest out of her family. In October of 2019, Kim celebrated having hit the 150 million follower milestone, which, at the time, was much more than Kylie’s 148 million.
The mother of one was hard at work marketing herself this year, and it paid off as she reached 156 million followers on her Instagram - roughly a million over Kim’s 155 million followers. Many accounts congratulated Kylie, which included screenshots of her and her 39-year-old sister’s tally marks. But Kim should not feel so defeated as she is still further ahead of her other famous sisters, with Kendall at 120 million, Khloe at 102 Million, Kourtney at 85 million. Their mother (or momager) Kris Jenner has a measly 31 million, even though she was the mastermind behind her children’s success, including their reality show.
Even though her other famous sisters may not be in the lead for “most followed on social media,” Kendall was named the highest-paid Instagram influencer of 2019. Just in sponsored posts alone, the model made $15.9 million to push ads, charging at least $611,00 per post. After seeing those numbers, it may be time for Kim to fire her social media manager and find one that can boost her past her youngest sister and back to the top.
